Guiyang will open a round-trip flight once a day to Taipei starting June 1. Passengers can book flight tickets online now, according to China Southern Airlines.
The first round-trip flight from Guiyang to Taipei operated on August 31, 2009. The Guiyang branch of China Southern Airlines has transported 1.6 million passengers on 1,592 flights over the past six years.
The flight will be operated by Boeing 737-800 to provide a comfortable trip, according to China Southern Airlines.
Foxconn also chose the flight to transport its first batch of products made in Guiyang. The 100 tablet computers weighing 684kg successfully arrived in Taiwan in April.
Business giants from Taiwan, including Foxconn, coming to invest in Guiyang have helped boost communication between the two places, requiring more and more round-trip flights.
