Guiyang city is among the fourth batch of pilot cities to open personal travel to Taiwan, according to Ministry of Public Security officials.

"Since August 18 2014, Guiyang citizens can file an individual visa to visit Taiwan," said Tanglong, head of Guizhou Entry and Exit Administration Bureau during a July 22 news conference announcing the new tourism visa.

Officials said in addition to the visa to visit Taiwan, they also must apply for an entry permit through a special travel agency.
