Scale of Guiyang's big data industry reaches $11b

According to the Guiyang municipal government, the total scale of the big data industry in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has reached 66.3 billion yuan ($10.71 billion).

As part of the GDP, the output value of the electronic information industry has reached 30 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 82.93 percent. The scale of communication and broadcasting & TV networking has reached 8.7 billion yuan.

In the past year, the Guiyang municipal government has taken various actions to promote the big data industry. It has achieved satisfactory results, such as the signing of 138 projects with a total value of 132.61 billion yuan.

So far, some 69 projects, including JD E-Business Park and ZTE E-Park, have initiated construction.

Some major big data centers and cloud computing centers, including the Guiyang Cloud Computing Center, Guizhou International Cloud Computing Center, Guiyang IDC Data Center and Guiyang Xunniao Cloud Computing Center, are proceeding smoothly with a total scale of more than 20,000 servers.
