Southwest China's Guizhou province has issued a plan on poverty alleviation in rural areas through the acceleration of e-commerce development. The plan was made for the province's economic goals between 2019 and 2020.

By focusing on these advantageous industries, the province will adjust its agriculture industrial structure to expand the business scope of online shopping and increase farmers' income, according to the plan.

Guizhou plans to build an improved system to help impoverished areas and people out of poverty through cooperation with e-commerce enterprises by the end of 2020. With e-commerce service stations covering most places, the annual increase of online retail sales is expected to reach more than 18 percent by that time.

The plan also includes a series of measures and objectives that Guizhou will take to stimulate its rural e-commerce development and brand cultivation.

It aims to nurture more than 30 agricultural e-commerce brands and more than 20 agricultural green brands by the end of 2020.

With the establishment of more than 79 e-commerce public service centers, more than 1,000 convenience centers, and more than 79 national logistic distribution centers across the province, Guizhou will provide 100,000 e-commerce jobs and help 150,000 farmers increase income by that time.

The plan also urges that all parts of Guizhou bring in no less than three e-commerce giants and cultivate at least two local e-commerce quality enterprises by the end of 2020.
