Guiyang gears up on big data safety improvement

Guiyang, capital of southwest China's Guizhou province and a city known as China's Data Valley, is taking full measures to strengthen its big data safety and the industry is developing at a rapid pace.
A seminar on big data security was held in the city's big data safety industry demonstration zone on April 24, attracting many experts and scholars from home and abroad.

Hosted by the Guiyang city government and Public Big Data National Key Lab, the seminar aimed to solicit more suggestions and solutions from experts and scholars to promote Guiyang's big data security industry development.
Professor Adi Shamir from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, who is also a Turing Award recipient, gave a speech entitled "The Insecurity of Machine Learning: Problems and Solutions," exploring several research methods against typical cases.
Wang Xiaoyun, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, called for an improved information security system by explaining the subject through typical adversarial examples in application safety, cryptology development, medical care big data, and engineering safety control.
Guiyang has seen steady improvement in its big data security industry in recent years. It is expected that the seminar will help the city build a favorable academic atmosphere and help in its development efforts to become a highland for the big data security industry.
