Guizhou tourism booms during Labor Day holiday

Southwest China's Guizhou province saw 39.12 million visitors and netted 17.47 billion yuan ($2.53 billion) during the Labor Day holiday from May 1 to 4, a year-on-year increase of 22.65 percent and 31.1 percent respectively, according to the provincial cultural and tourism administration.
Regarded as a tourism paradise for visitors, the province's 45 scenic spots received more than 40,000 tourists during the four-day holiday, including Xijiang One-thousand Miao Village, Huangguoshu Waterfall, Libo Xiaoqikong Scenic Spot, and Qingyan Ancient Town.
As hot springs become increasingly popular, the province received 300,000 visitors during the holiday and they contributed 2,653 yuan in hot spring ticket revenue for Guizhou.
Statistics show that visitors that drove to the province accounted for 60.7 percent of the total number, coming from neighboring areas of Guizhou, including Chongqing municipality, as well as Sichuan, Yunnan, and Hunan provinces.
During the four-day holiday, 236,000 visitors chose flights to come in and out of Guizhou, 1.08 million visitors chose railways, and 2.06 million travelled by highways.
