Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, reached an agreement on educational cooperation with Renmin University of China (RUC) in Beijing on Aug 30.

Over the past year, RUC has reached cooperation agreements with Guizhou on talent cultivation, policy analysis, and educational research, making advantageous use of its academic resources.

RUC will promote the educational cooperation between Guiyang and its affiliated high school, as well as explore the best model for operating schools and for a cooperative mechanism, based on past cooperation.

Guiyang hopes that the cooperation will promote poverty alleviation and economic development, as well as accelerate the modernization of education in the city.

Guiyang will keep close contact with the high school affiliated to RUC on its cooperative mechanism, infrastructure, and policy supports to build a new model of high-quality educational cooperation.
