A delegation from the Guizhou Chamber of Commerce in Russia on Dec 2 visited the Guiyang branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

They discussed the planned establishment of Guiyang's business representative office in Russia, as well as other subjects including expanding the city's contacts and business in the country.

Song Qingping, secretary-general of the Guizhou Chamber of Commerce in Russia, said her body would help, leveraging its knowledge and experience in commerce and trade, as well as economic and cultural resources in Russia.

The CCPIT Guiyang branch welcomed the chamber's assistance in establishing the city's Russian commerce office and said it wanted to expand its relations and ventures there in more fields.

The two sides reached consensus on promoting joint ventures in trading agricultural products, medium and high-end consumer products and processed goods, as well as in the education, cultural and technology sectors in Guiyang and Russia.

The Guizhou Chamber of Commerce in Russia was registered in Moscow in 2017 and last year established a Guizhou representative office in Russia with the help of the province's commerce department.

Under Guiyang's plan to establish overseas commercial offices overseas, the city plans to set up about 10 commercial offices in countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, including the one in Russia, within three years.
