Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was honored as one of the 2020 annual tourism cities at the China National Travel Award Ceremony held in Beijing on April 20.

Guiyang was selected as the best ecological tourism destination in 2017 and the best-quality tourism city in 2018 by China National Travel magazine, which is a major platform that showcases the development of China's tourism industry.

The China National Travel Award Ceremony is recognized as the most authoritative award event in China's tourism industry. It has been held five times since 2016.

Guiyang is a popular destination to avoid China’s summer heat and one of the world's top 10 summer resort cities. It is also China's first national forest city, a core area of China's first national big data comprehensive pilot area, a hub city of the New International Land-Sea Corridor and a transportation hub in West China.

In recent years, Guiyang has taken the tourism industry as one of its pillar industries, aiming to become a tourism city known for its natural environment, beautiful scenery, ethnic cultures, cool weather and rich culture heritage.
