Guiyang and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province released a new policy to attract more talents to contribute to regional economic development on April 23.

The policy includes 26 measures on talent recognition, establishing innovation and entrepreneurship platforms for talents, talent attraction, talent cultivation and the optimization of talent services.

According to the policy, up to 5 million yuan ($770,899.15) of finance support will be provided to newly recognized national or provincial enterprise technology centers, technological innovation demonstration enterprises, engineering technology (research) centers, innovation centers for manufacturing and demonstration enterprises that are subdivision manufacturing leaders.

Newly approved academician work stations and post-doctorate work stations will receive subsidies of 1 million yuan and 500,000 yuan, respectively. Newly recognized incubators for technology enterprises and mass innovation spaces will receive a subsidy up to 800,000 yuan.

Individuals and teams that launch enterprises with their own projects, technologies and funds will receive finance support up to 5 million yuan, as well as free work spaces (up to 500 square meters) for three years.

Individuals and teams with leading, original and landmark projects will receive a subsidy of up to 100 million yuan to cover living and scientific research costs. Commercialization centers for scientific and technological achievements and international R&D institutions will receive a subsidy of up to 200 million yuan.

Talents and their family members can enjoy preferential policies related to accommodation, medical treatment, education and employment.

In addition, Guiyang and Guian will provide different subsidies for enterprises and public institutions to hire in-demand talents and high-level talents.
