Guian's import, export volume grows

Updated: December 20, 2021

During the first 11 months of this year, Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province achieved an estimated import and export volume of $453 million, an increase of 41.56 percent year-on-year, or 73.1 percent of the annual target.

Since the beginning of this year, Guian has developed foreign trade, utilized foreign capital, accelerated the construction of service trade innovation, and applied to establish a national free trade pilot zone.

Guian has also improved targeted services to help companies solve problems, optimized its business environment, promoted project construction, and maintained foreign investment stability.

Guian's industry development bureau holds meetings themed around foreign investment, foreign trade and foreign trade companies on a regular basis. Its representatives also visit key foreign trade and foreign-invested companies every month, introduce financial institutions and foreign trade companies to the area, discuss loan applications, and help companies get business licenses.

Several Guian-based firms were helped to attend key trade fairs such as China International Fair for Trade in Services, China International Import Expo, and China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair.

Taking note of other free trade zones' successful experience, Guian's free trade zone reduced logistics costs for local companies by implementing a "Guizhou-Guangdong logistics channel" project in June. By the end of November, 198 trucks had transported 2,246.52 metric tons of goods between Guizhou and Guangdong provinces.
