In recent years, Guiyang city – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – has taken the advent of the industrial internet as a golden opportunity to boost the transformation and upgrading of its industry.

Examples of the successful transition are not hard to find. Nowadays, at Guiyang Zhenxing Technology Co, intelligent production lines can be seen produce up to 40,000 integrated circuits per day. The Guiyang-based company generated more than 170 million yuan ($25.6 million) of revenue in 2021 and sold products to South Korea, Japan, Europe, the United States and Southeast Asia.

The company is a national high-tech company focusing on ultra-high-definition displays and artificial intelligence. When establishing itself in the Nanming district of Guiyang in 2020, the company introduced a manufacturing execution system (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) to expand its market, save production time and reduce supply chain costs.

The MES and ERP have also improved the company's supply capabilities and increased production speed and output. Currently, it has established more than 20 production lines and has more than 60 registered items of intellectual property.

Elsewhere, Guiyang Yongqing Instruments & Electronics Science & Technology Co – a State-owned company with more than 50 years of history in the city – has been integrating information technology with production technology in recent years.

By creating intelligent warehouses and workshops, the company successfully became a supplier for leading international companies and resolved various technical bottlenecks. Now its daily production has reached 1,000 sets of components and annual revenue is expected to top 500 million yuan in 2022.

Both companies have also taken employee training as a priority in their development. By cooperating with universities and establishing professional and intelligent training centers, they hope to create their own teams of high-level talent.

In the future, Guiyang is expected to give full play to its new electronics components industry and develop the intelligent terminal industry's growing market competitiveness. By 2025, the annual output value of the city's electronics information manufacturing industry is expected to hit 100 billion yuan.
