Guiyang, Guian's software sales rank 15th nationally

In the first quarter of 2022, Guiyang and the nearby Guian New Area – located in Southwest China's Guizhou province – generated 14.08 billion yuan ($2.11 billion) in software revenue, a surge of 102.7 percent year-on-year and a performance that ranked it first in the province.

In recent years, the proportion of Guiyang and Guian's software revenue to the province's total has shot up from 84.57 percent in 2019 to 95.18 percent in the first quarter of this year.

After their information technology services industry was included in the national strategic emerging industrial cluster development project, the two sped up the cluster development of their digital industries.

As a result, they have established a digital economy eco-system and a software and information technology services industry supply chain.

They are currently home to 17 data centers. It makes it one of the regions with the most super-large data centers in the world and one of the places with the most powerful computing capability in China.

In 2021-25, Guian will construct more than 15 data centers, install more than 4 million servers and is expected to become a national hub for China's integrated computing network.

In 2022, Guiyang and Guian will construct more than 5,000 5G base stations, construct national computing power reserve centers and a data backup center for disaster recovery. Furthermore, it will connect with other data center clusters and provide cloud computing services for the whole country.

Guiyang and Guian will also develop cloud computing products, services and solutions. They will sharpen their digital economy development, accelerate the training of big data talent, grasp the opportunities presented by the arrival of the metaverse and realize sustainable development in the digital economy.
