Guiyang, Guian sign with Huawei for digital economy innovation

Updated: June 13, 2022

Guiyang and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province signed an agreement with Huawei on June 9 to co-build a digital economy innovation center.

This is the second time Guizhou and Huawei have cooperated, after Huawei's cloud computing center was launched in Guian in December 2021. This was expected to support Guizhou's digital economy strategy.

The innovation center will be built in the Guiyang big data sci-tech innovation city and give full play of Huawei's strength in software development, artificial intelligence and talent training, as well as become China's first national digital economy innovation center with all scenarios.

According to the agreement, the innovation will consist of three platforms for software development, artificial intelligence, and information technology application innovation, respectively. It will also have platforms of industrial internet, internet of things R&D, and region chain.

In the future, the innovation center will provide R&D tools, digital solutions and technology services for more than 200 micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, provide more than 100 companies with Kunpeng adaptive technology support, and provide artificial intelligence technology support for more than 50 companies every year.

Zhang Ping'an, CEO of Huawei Cloud, said that Guian has strong computing capabilities and abundant data resources, and is a main hub of China's big data industry.

After the innovation center is put into operation, it will support Guian's development into a national big data industry cluster and the development of a digital industrial system, Zhang added.
