Guiyang, Guian fully covered by high-speed internet networks

Updated: July 7, 2022

Guiyang city and the nearby Guian New Area – located in Southwest China's Guizhou province – have now realized full coverage of 5G and 1,000-gigabit optical networks, making them the first in the province to do so, according to the Guiyang bureau of big data development and management.

The high-speed internet networks have ultra-wide bandwidth and ultra-low time delays, making them advanced and reliable. They can provide fixed and mobile network access for users and help Guiyang realize its digital and intelligent transformation.

In recent years, Guiyang and Guian have both accelerated the construction of the 5G network and integrated 5G with various industrial sectors.

To date, the two have installed 15,641 5G base stations, accounting for 30 percent of the province's total.

All the districts, counties, towns and townships – as well as transportation hubs, national 5A-level scenic areas, grade-A tertiary hospitals and universities – are now covered by the 5G network.

Guiyang and Guian have also implemented 51 scenario-based 5G application projects in industry, culture, tourism and transportation.
