Over the past 10 years, Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – has been focusing on both its economic development and environmental protection.

Those efforts have yielded success, as the metropolis continues to pave the way for its expansion in the future.

In 2021, Guiyang's GDP hit 471.1 billion yuan ($69.7 billion) and per capita GDP exceeded $12,000.
