The city of Guiyang and Guian New Area – located in Southwest China's Guizhou province – have been working hard on streamlining and improving market supervision, protection and services to optimize their business environment and attract more business entities to move there.

During the first half of this year, Guiyang and Guian were home to 955,600 business entities – ranging from sole traders, partnerships to large corporations – which was an increase of 15.36 percent year-on-year.

In the same period, 71,800 business entities were established in Guiyang and Guian, up 15.62 percent year-on-year; 14,252 trademarks were registered in the two areas, a gain of 32.12 percent and 7,580 patents were licensed in the two areas, including 1,235 patents for invention.

The Guiyang administration for market regulation has innovated with new service modes and with its supervision mechanism to reduce the costs for businesses, help the development of a national unified market and stimulate the city's economy.

In 2021, China (Guiyang) Intellectual Property Protection Center got the green light to start construction. It will provide one-stop services for companies to apply, protect, utilize and manage their intellectual properties efficiently and conveniently at a low cost.

The Guiyang administration for market regulation also supports strategic emerging industries, the modern manufacturing industry and modern agriculture – to develop proprietary intellectual property rights and enhance intellectual property protection.

In the future, plans are for Guiyang and Guian to continue to refine their services for company registrations, market supervision and intellectual property protection, as well as optimize the business environment with reforms and innovations.
