Mobile labs have been sent from across Southwest China's Guizhou province to Guiyang – the capital city – since the recent COVID-19 outbreak to help with nucleic acid tests.
At the Guiyang Olympic Sports Center, 13 mobile labs are running day and night to test nucleic acid samples that are being collected from testing stations. Medics disinfect and unpack the samples before entering the information and then send them to the labs.
The Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture sent 165 testers, eight mobile labs and one P2+ level lab to Guiyang after the outbreak. By midnight on Sept 11, they had tested 148,000 tubes of nucleic acid samples collected from more than 1.22 million people.
The Guizhou Provincial Center for Clinical Laboratory selected testers from 114 medical institutions in the province to assist the nucleic acid tests in Guiyang. It is also supervising Guiyang's six third-party medical labs to guide and standardize the testing process.
It is also responsible for testing nucleic acid samples, and by Sept 11, it had received and completed tests of 31,416 tubes of nucleic acid samples and collected and tested 4,291 nucleic acid samples door-to-door.
