The China-ASEAN Youth Cross-cultural Communication Activity – part of 2022 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week – wrapped up on Nov 28 in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

Since its launch in mid-November, Guizhou Minzu University and universities from Laos, Vietnam and Thailand have organized various on-site and online activities. These attracted the participation of more than 300 students and teachers from China and ASEAN countries.

On the concluding day of the activity, students from the Lao language major at Guizhou Minzu University's ASEAN College of Humanities used Lao and Chinese to share the culture of ethnic groups in Laos, as well as that of the Dong and Yi ethnic groups in Guizhou.

Chansouk LN, a Chinese language major student at the National University of Laos, introduced traditional costumes of women in Laos. Li Xiaoke, a student of the Miao ethnic group and Lao student Sunsee Yatht, meanwhile, gave a talk on the costumes and customs of the Miao ethnic group and Laos.

The activity aimed to boost understanding between the youth of China and ASEAN countries and broaden their vision. The students and teachers are said to be excited about the prospect of more such activities in the future.
