A press conference on the development of Guiyang and Guian New Area's green economy was held on Jan 9, at which the completion of Guiyang and Guian's 2022 ecological environment protection goals was announced.

In 2022, the rate of days with good ambient air quality in Guiyang and Guian New Area was 100 percent.

The standard rate of water quality of 28 national and provincial control sections in Guiyang and Guian was 100 percent, while the excellent rate was 96.43 percent. The standard rate of water quality of 17 centralized drinking water sources above the county level was also 100 percent.

In addition, the risk of soil pollution in the two regions' construction sites has been effectively controlled, and the quality of groundwater has been gradually improved.

The balance between production and consumption of phosphogypsum in the two regions was achieved, the comprehensive utilization rate of bulk industrial solid waste was 69 percent, and the harmless disposal rate of medical waste in urban built-up areas above the county level was 100 percent.

No major environmental pollution accidents or nuclear and radiation safety incidents occurred during the year.
