On July 3, a Guiyang delegation led by Hu Zhongxiong, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Guiyang municipal committee, visited Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, and met with senior officials from the city.

Xi'an Economic and Technological Zone, covering a planned area of 272 square meters, is home to an array of leading enterprises including Shaanxi Automobile Holding Group, Geely Auto Group, LONGi Leye Co and Huatian Technology Co.

The delegation visited the zone's Planning and Industry Exhibition Hall and LONGi, where they gained a deep understanding of the zone's industrial layout, transportation situation and photovoltaic industry innovation and development.

Hu urged Guiyang's relevant departments to learn from Xi'an in terms of the planning, construction, investment promotion and operation of the industrial park. By promoting cooperation with outstanding enterprises, Guiyang will ramp up efforts to develop a strong industrial system.

They also went to Xixian New Area, the first State-level new area with a focus on innovative urban development. During the visit, Hu said that both Guian New Area and Xixian are both State-level new districts established at the same time. Guian can learn from the experiences and innovative model of Xixian New Area to boost its development.

To build Guian into a provincial innovation center, it is necessary to strengthen the drive for innovation, focusing on innovative industries, innovative enterprises, science and technology platforms, scientific and technological investment, and scientific and technological talent, as well as speed up construction of the Guiyang Big Data Science and Innovation city, he added.
