Guiyang listed among China's top 100 cities

Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, ranked 48th in the 2023 China Top 100 Cities Rankings, which was released in Shanghai on July 18.

This is the ninth consecutive year that the Warton Economic Institute has compiled and released the China Top 100 Cities Rankings.

In recent years, Guiyang has been striving to build a reservoir of talent in the province to provide talent support for its development. It has implemented a talent-oriented development strategy and measures to attract various talents, and provided them with comprehensive policy support and generous benefits. Now it is home to over 1.06 million talents.

Guiyang is renowned for its expertise in big data technology and maintains a leading position in the core area of the national big data comprehensive pilot zone. It has been approved to establish a national-level big data industry development cluster, a big data industry technological innovation experimental zone, and a demonstration pilot city for big data and cybersecurity.

Guiyang has also established the first national engineering laboratory for big data and the Guiyang Big Data Exchange. Guian New Area is already home to seven super-large data centers, including Qixing Lake, Huawei High-end Park, Tencent, and Apple, and it plans to become a world-class data center cluster by 2025.

In addition, Guiyang is known for its good air quality and cool weather in summer. It has a total of 1,025 parks and a forest coverage rate of over 55 percent.

In terms of transportation, Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport has opened 228 domestic routes and 25 international routes, connecting 108 domestic cities and 24 foreign regions.

A "3-hour high-speed rail economic circle" between Guiyang and neighboring provincial capitals is nearly complete, while the Guiyang subway network is also expanding, with Line 3 set to begin trial operations.

The efficient and convenient transportation network provides a solid foundation for Guiyang to develop into a national tourism hub city.

With its favorable environment, strong talent support, and developed transportation network, the city is attracting an increasing number of talents and tourists.
