The unveiling ceremony of the Shanghai Zhangjiang (Guian) High-Tech Industrial Park was held at the Guian Center of the Guiyang Big Data Science and Technology Innovation City on Aug 31, marking a new phase of cooperation between Guian New Area and Shanghai Zhangjiang Group in the fields of technological innovation and industrial collaboration.

The industrial park has a planned area of 5.72 square kilometers and features four sub-parks, namely the Computing Power Application Industrial Park, Software Industrial Park, Internet of Things Smart Park, and Artificial Intelligence Industrial Park.

Total investment is approximately 31.3 billion yuan ($4.31 billion), mainly dedicated to the construction of industrial buildings for big data, artificial intelligence, software development, incubation centers, research and development testing centers, road networks, supporting office spaces, and more.

In terms of industrial development, the park will focus on artificial intelligence and the internet of things, with an emphasis on nurturing innovative technology services.

It is guided by the principles of "science and innovation +" and "big data +", "Shanghai enterprises + Guizhou resources", "Shanghai research and development + Guizhou manufacturing", and "Shanghai headquarters + Guizhou base" to turn Guian into a provincial scientific and technological innovation center and create a model area for industrial cooperation between Shanghai and Guizhou.

Yuan Tao, chairman of Shanghai Zhangjiang Group, said at the unveiling ceremony that the group will fully leverage its operational and investment attraction advantages to bring in more 'specialized and sophisticated' enterprises for the high-quality development of Guian.

It will make full use of Guiyang and Guian's national hub for computing power resources, referred to as "East Data and West Calculation," and complement the strengths of Zhangjiang Science City in technological innovation, technological achievements, and talent to drive bilateral empowerment and win-win cooperation in industrial development between the two parties.

The Guiyang Big Data Science and Technology Innovation City will also work to provide services and a more favorable environment for enterprises to grow and expand.

On the same day, Guizhou Guian Zhangjiang High-Tech Joint Industrial Development Co was officially established. The company, along with 15 other companies, signed agreements to set up operations in the park. Guian Development Group also signed a fund investment cooperation agreement with Shanghai Zhangjiang Group.
