2023 Guiyang International Tennis Open to commence on Sept 10

The 2023 Guiyang International Tennis Open is set for Sept 10-24 at the tennis court of the Guiyang Tennis Sports Management Center, according to a press conference held on Sept 4.

Guiyang previously hosted ITF International Women's Tennis tournaments for four years from 2016 to 2019. This will mark the fifth time that Guiyang has hosted a high-level international tennis event.

This year's event will feature mixed-gender matches for the first time, and the tournament has transitioned from a circuit event to the Guiyang International Tennis Open.

The total prize money is $50,000, and the competition includes four categories: women's singles, women's doubles, men's singles, and men's doubles.

The tournament will span 15 days, with the women's event taking place from Sept 10 to 17, women's doubles finals on Sept 16, and women's singles finals on Sept 17. The men's event runs from Sept 17 to 24, with men's doubles finals on Sept 23 and men's singles finals on Sept 24.

The tournament has attracted a total of 248 professional players from 40 countries and regions, including China, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Australia, Canada, and more.

The competition features a star-studded lineup with renowned players from both domestic and international circuits, including Mandlik, Li Hanwen, Wei Sijia, Li Zhe, and others. Additionally, Bai Yan, Guo Meiqi, and Zhao Zhao from the Guiyang team will be making appearances on their home turf.

In addition, Guiyang has decided to incorporate elements of the city's history, culture, local customs, and culinary and scenic beauty throughout the tournament to enhance the experience for athletes and fans.

The tournament will be open to the public, and citizens can obtain tickets by presenting their ID at the Guiyang Tennis Sport Management Center.
