From January to August, Guiyang City and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province attracted 61.9 billion yuan ($8.63 billion) in industrial capital in place. A total of 287 major projects and strong enterprises were brought in.

Since 2022, Guiyang has implemented an action plan to double its industrial output, with the total output value of its seven major industries accounting for 64.3 percent of the total output of industries above a designated size.

Meanwhile, the manufacturing industry contributed 32.5 percent to the area's overall economic growth.

In the first half, the city's total industrial output reached 200.4 billion yuan, with the manufacturing industry accounting for 22.1 percent of regional GDP.

Guiyang's big data industry has performed exceptionally well, ranking as China's first State-level comprehensive big data pilot zone. World-famous companies such as Apple, Huawei, Tencent, NetEase, and Midea have all set up data centers in Guiyang.

In addition, a large number of well-known companies such as BYD and CATL have invested and established businesses in Guiyang, boosting the regional economy.

From 2012 to 2022, Guiyang's GDP increased from 163.42 billion yuan to 492.12 billion yuan, making it one of the fastest-growing cities in China.

It is foreseeable that Guiyang will become an important economic growth pole in western China. Nowadays, Guiyang has become one of the most vibrant investment destinations in China, and has been rated as a hot spot for investment in China.

Guiyang also has abundant natural mineral resources, including 551 million metric tons of bauxite reserves, 1.31 billion tons of phosphate rock reserves, and 2.01 billion tons of coal reserves.

The city has rich scientific and educational resources, with 37 universities in the city, three academician workstations, and nine post-doctoral workstations. There are also six national key laboratories and 55 provincial key laboratories in the city.

In recent years, Guiyang has made every effort to promote the government service reform. For example, the registration time for real estate registration is now shortened to 5 working days.

In investment promotion, Guiyang clearly focuses on "1+7+1" key industrial layout, while continuously strengthening and extending the industrial chains. It focuses on key areas such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Chongqing-Sichuan region, Yangtze River Delta, and Central China, expanding cooperation with State-owned enterprises and other leading companies.
