Guiyang narrows urban-rural income gap

In 2023, the income of urban and rural residents in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, grew steadily, while the urban-rural income gap narrowed to a ratio was 2.05, a decrease of 0.06 from the previous year.

In 2023, the absolute value of urban and rural residents' income in Guiyang ranked first among the nine cities and prefectures in the province.

The per capita disposable income of urban residents was 48,364 yuan ($6,722.6), which was higher than the provincial average yet lower than the national average.

The per capita disposable income of rural residents was 23,640 yuan, higher than both the provincial and national average.

The per capita disposable income growth rate of urban residents in Guiyang was 4.6 percent, which was 0.8 percentage points lower than the same period last year, 0.5 percentage points higher than the provincial average, and 0.5 percentage points lower than the national average.

The per capita disposable income growth rate of rural residents in Guiyang was 7.8 percent, an increase of 1.2 percentage points from the same period last year, 0.3 percentage points lower than the provincial average, and 0.1 percentage points higher than the national average.
