By 2025, the preliminary establishment of a new model for equitable, high-quality, and innovative education development in Gui'an New Area is expected to be achieved. The aim is to fundamentally transform the model from "access to education" to "access to excellent education," according to an announcement at a conference on the high-quality development of education held in Gui'an, Guizhou province, on March 15.

By 2025, the new area plans to add over 7,000 new school enrollment slots, build six new primary and secondary schools and kindergartens, and improve 19 existing primary and secondary schools and kindergartens. The enrollment slots will almost fully meet demand in the new area.

In cultivating high-quality educational resources, efforts will be made to introduce resources from both within and outside the province to establish cooperative schools in Gui'an, aiming for at least four by 2025.

Furthermore, there will be a focus on nurturing exemplary schools. By 2025, the goal is to establish two provincial-level demonstration high schools, 15 "leading public schools" at the provincial and municipal levels, a number of provincial-level demonstration kindergartens and four municipal-level demonstration kindergartens.

In addition, efforts will be made to enhance the capabilities of teaching staff. By 2025, the new area hopes to achieve comprehensive training coverage for teachers at all primary and secondary schools and kindergartens in the area, with a training compliance rate of 100 percent.

The new area also hopes that the proportion of middle and senior title-holding teachers will exceed 44 percent. In addition, Gui'an plans to cultivate 10 principals of renowned schools or kindergartens, 50 distinguished teachers at the district-level, and 20 distinguished teachers and principals at the provincial-level.

Meanwhile, Gui'an will attach great importance to establishing moral and ethical standards for teachers and a comprehensive and authoritative educational supervision mechanism.
