Guiyang city holds grand ethnic parade

An ethnic parade and ethnic performing gala took place in Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – on May 18, the eve of China Tourism Day.
Additionally, the parallel session of the launch ceremony for China Tourism Day was held at Qingyan Ancient Town in Guiyang's Huaxi district.

More than 3,000 people from cities and prefectures in Guizhou and the 10 districts of Guiyang formed groups, marching along the route decorated with three parade-themed installations featuring Guizhou's ethnic culture, historical heritage and its own special brand of tourism.

The marching groups traversed the main streets of Guiyang and gathered at the center stage for the ethnic performing gala at Zhucheng Square – where local artists and performing teams presented an audio-visual extravaganza.

To add to the fun, Guiyang's scenic spots also launched a series of support events such as a long-table feast at Qingyun Road, a roadside concert at Zhucheng Square, and an intangible cultural heritage and creative marketing event and hanfu shows at Wenchang Pavilion – fully showcasing the natural scenery, customs and charms of Guizhou.
