This marked the first intercontinental route to resume operations at Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport after the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the first international route launched by Hainan Airlines in Guiyang since the pandemic.

The flight departs at 8:15 pm from Guiyang and arrives at Milan Malpensa Airport at 8:55 am local time the following day. The return flight departs from Milan at 10:55 am local time and arrives in Guiyang at 8:45 am local time the following day.

Interline agreements with multiple airlines, including Alitalia, have been signed for the route, allowing passengers to extend the route to over 40 European cities, such as Paris, London, Rome, Amsterdam, Madrid, and Frankfurt after arriving in Milan.

In order to take full advantage of the Longdongbao International Airport, Hainan Airlines has also formulated preferential domestic interline policies for routes traveling from other cities to Milan via Guiyang. For instance, passengers departing from six cities – Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Haikou, Wenzhou, and Fuzhou, can enjoy the free domestic segments.
