Guiyang airport to increase flights for summer travel

Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport in Southwest China's Guizhou province is expected to handle a passenger throughput of 4.34 million during the 62-day peak summer travel season that began on July 1, averaging 70,000 people daily and marking a year-on-year increase of 7.03 percent compared to 2023.

A total of 29,760 passenger flights will be scheduled with an average of 480 flights per day, a 5.49 percent year-on-year increase compared to 2023, with a peak of nearly 505 flights per day. Based on the forecasts above, the throughput is expected to increase by 3.02 percent compared to 2019 by the end of the summer peak season.

During this period, flights from Guiyang airport will mainly serve the country's east, mid-south, north and northwest regions, with proportions of 46 percent, 22 percent, 14 percent, and 8 percent, respectively.

Guiyang airport will also operate four international routes during the summer peak season. Flights departing from Guiyang to Macao, Bangkok, and Osaka are scheduled to operate every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The Guiyang-Shenzhen-Milan route, which operates every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday, has been expanded, now allowing passengers to travel to over 40 European cities, such as Paris, London, Rome, Amsterdam, Madrid, and Frankfurt, after arriving in Milan.
