The development of the accommodation industry has flourished due to numerous cultural and tourism activities launched by Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

During the 2024 Guiyang Marathon held in Guanshanhu district, the average rental rate of key accommodation enterprises in Guiyang reached 78 percent, a 64 percent increase compared to the previous period. For instance, the Fairfield By Marriott saw its highest weekend occupancy rate of the year due to the event.

The Guiyang Qingyan Holiday Inn Resort and Holiday Inn Express, located in Huaxi district, launched activities such as hand-dyed fabric experiences, hairpin-making, and traditional opera mask-carving, enhancing visitors' travel experiences. Bookings for these two hotels have reached 70 percent of total room capacity in July.

In Qiantao township of Huaxi district, 12 hotels surrounded by picturesque rural scenery are equipped with basic facilities such as air conditioning, television, wireless internet, and a shared kitchen, allowing visitors to check in with convenience and comfort. The homestays in the township are now nearly booked up.

Data shows that Guiyang has introduced 13 new upscale hotels this year, bringing the total to 323. The city now boasts 1,206 accommodations for rural tourism, with a total of 10,078 rooms and over 16,000 beds available.
