The 2024 Colorful Guizhou: 17th PhotoChina Original International Photography Exhibition is being held at the Guizhou Art Museum in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, from July 30 to Aug 11.
For the first time, the exhibition features a guest country and invites the "Lancang-Mekong International Video & Photography Week" program to participate.
The works of six photographers from guest country Japan are showcased at the exhibition, and Qinghai province, host of the "Lancang-Mekong International Video & Photography Week", appears as the guest province to bring photography works reflecting the unique landscapes and diverse cultures of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation countries.
During the 17th China-ASEAN Summit in November 2014, at China's urging, the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Mechanism was established by China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
Over the past 16 years, the exhibition has received tens of thousands of images from around the world and introduced a series of overseas exhibitions, which not only enrich the culture of Guizhou, but also allow Guizhou people to see the world and experience diverse cultures without leaving home.
At the same time, the exhibition has established good relationships with major international photography institutions. Renowned international photographers have visited Guizhou to capture and spread every detail of the province through their lenses.
This two-way interactive exchange not only showcases Guizhou's unique natural landscapes and cultural scenery to the world, but also promotes mutual learning and integration between Guizhou culture and other cultures.
