Guiyang leads country in data trading

As of July 31, a total of 1,424 entities have set up operations in the trading market of the Guiyang Global Big Data Exchange (GBDEx) of Southwest China's Guizhou province, with a cumulative transaction volume of 4.79 billion yuan ($667.79 million). Guiyang, capital of Guizhou, consistently leads the country's development of the data factor market.
Serving as the first data circulation trading venue in China, the GBDEx was established in 2015. In 2022, GBDEx released the first set of national data trading rules.
In 2023, GBDEx became the country's first OID industry node of data factor registration, providing services such as data product registration, data asset registration, and data trading registration nationwide. GBDEx also successfully launched the first national data product trading price calculator, addressing the difficulty of data pricing.
Additionally, the country's first personal data compliance circulation and transaction was completed through GBDEx, and it was selected among the 10 major influential events in China's digital economy development and legal construction in 2024.
Meteorological Data zone, the first national official data zone officially launched by GBDEx, featuring 95 meteorological data products covering various areas such as tourism weather services, climate trend forecasting and disaster risk warning, meeting the diverse market demands for meteorological data.
Moving forward, GBDEx will launch 12 data zones covering electricity, telecommunication, hydrology, mobile, rural revitalization, transportation, geographic information, government data opening, government big data, Ant Digital Technology services and computing power resources.
