The handover ceremony for the first batch of Guiyang-made new energy buses exported to Laos was held on Oct 12 in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

A total of 55 new energy buses were exported to Laos, manufactured by Chery Wanda Guizhou Bus Co, Guizhou's leading new energy bus company. At the handover ceremony, representatives from the two sides exchanged keys to the vehicles.

These buses will be used for the first smart, modernized Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system in Vientiane, capital of Laos. This will strongly support the green and intelligent development of Laos' public transportation. The export of these buses represents the bulk of Guizhou's new energy vehicles to a Belt and Road Initiative partner country, showcasing Guizhou's technological strength and product advantages in this sector.

A Chery Wanda Guizhou Bus Co representative noted that the company has been actively expanding into overseas markets in recent years. This marks the company's first export of buses to Laos, an important step in its strategy for international expansion.

The logistics route for this export utilized the China-Laos Railway. This is the first time the railway has operated an export train for automobiles from Guizhou to Laos, and it is also the first dedicated export train since its launch. This provides a more convenient and efficient logistics channel for future cooperation and trade between Guizhou and Laos.
