The forest coverage rate of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has remained steady at over 55 percent. The city boasts a total of 1,025 parks of various sizes, with a per capita park green area exceeding 14.85 square meters in the built-up area.

From January to August, all 28 of the city's state-controlled and province-controlled water sections with good-quality surface water were in compliance with the city's water quality standards, with a 92.86 percent rate of good or excellent water quality, while full compliance was also achieved among all 15 of the city's centralized drinking water sources at or above the county level.

Currently, 99.6 percent of days in Guiyang's central urban area have good or excellent air quality.

In order to promote green and low-carbon development, a distributed photovoltaic power generation project is under construction in the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone, covering an area of approximately 50,000 square meters, with 15 photovoltaic sub-arrays, two photovoltaic arrays and two containerized substations. The installed capacity reaches 4.43 megawatts peak.

The project is expected to generate 3.7 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, reducing standard coal consumption by 1,100 metric tons per year and carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions by 3,100 tons, and providing solid green energy support for the high-quality development of Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area.

As of now, Guiyang and Gui'an have a total of 60 green factories, six green industrial parks, 12 green supply chain management enterprises and 13 national-level green design products.
