Located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, the Miao's Tales Embroidery Costume Museum is the first Miao embroidery-themed museum in China. Its director, Zeng Li, is an ambassador of Miao embroidery, a major part of China's textile intangible cultural heritage. Her father, Zeng Xianyang, is renowned as the foremost collector of Miao embroidery in China.

The museum ranked first among the top 10 non-State-owned museums in Guizhou in both 2022 and 2023.

Covering an area of 2,400 square meters, the museum displays over 400 traditional Miao embroidery works, Miao costumes and silver ornaments from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) to the Republic of China period (1912-1949). The exhibition, with the tagline "The magical code", boasts four sections introducing the Miao people's exploration of the universe and the world, while powerfully illustrating the diverse and long history of Chinese civilization.

Throughout history, the Miao people did not develop a readable script. Instead, they used needles, threads, and cloth to embroider their culture's many myths and stories.
