On Dec 17, 512 kilograms of bananas from Hanoi, Vietnam, arrived at the International Freight Center in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, marking the official launch of the designated inspection area for imported fruits at Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport.

The designated inspection area for imported fruits is designed to receive, inspect, store, and release fresh fruits imported for trade purposes. Each fruit will undergo customs inspection before entering the market.

In the near future, a designated inspection area for imported chilled seafood will be launched, with plans for the import of fresh frozen reeves shad from Yangon, Myanmar, by air cargo.

"The comprehensive designated inspection areas of the International Freight Center further expand the import channels for high-quality products from overseas, allowing fruits and chilled seafood from Southeast Asia to be directly transported to Guiyang. The areas also enable Guizhou's agricultural products to be exported," stated a spokesman from the bureau of investment promotion of Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone.
