Guiyang and Gui'an see strong industry in 2024

In 2024, it is estimated that the total industrial output value of Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province exceeded 430 billion yuan ($58.9 billion). The added value of industries above a designated size of Guiyang increased by around 10 percent, while that of Gui'an increased by over 40 percent.

In terms of big data development, the computing power scale of Guiyang and Gui'an reached 53.12 Eflops, with smart computing accounting for 95.6 percent, making them part of the strongest regions in smart computing nationwide.

In 2024, Guiyang and Gui'an focused on the development of key industries such as aerospace, new energy vehicles, and engineering machinery, and mountain agricultural machinery. The new energy vehicle industry grew by over 40 percent, with Geely's complete vehicle output reaching 130,000 units, exceeding 13 billion yuan in value. It aims to achieve a total output value of 70 billion yuan for the year.

Guiyang and Gui'an established the country's largest production base for pithead phosphate fertilizers and wet-process purified phosphoric acid, forming a cluster for the titanium-phosphorus-sulfur-iron-lithium industry. The added value grew by over 30 percent for two consecutive years, with an estimated total output value of 39 billion yuan for the year.

Guiyang and Gui'an have become the province's most complete aluminum resource deep processing bases in terms of industrial chain completeness, product variety richness, and industrial scale. The total output value is expected to increase by over 35 percent, with a target total output value of 34.5 billion yuan for the year.

Focusing on developing ecological specialty foods such as seasonings, beverages, snacks, and pre-made dishes, Guiyang and Gui'an established the country's largest chili product industrial cluster, aiming to achieve a total output value of 20.5 billion yuan for the year.

In 2024, Guiyang and Gui'an completed the construction of 77 substations in industrial parks, with a capacity of 16.44 million kilovolt-amperes, achieving a reliability rate and qualified distribution network voltage rate of 99.9 percent each.
