In 2024, the proportion of days with excellent and good air quality in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province, remained stable at over 99.5 percent, with a year-on-year decrease of 16.6 percent in PM2.5 concentration. The air quality of Guiyang and Gui'an ranked among the top cities in the list of 168 key cities nationwide.

The forest coverage in Guiyang and Gui'an has remained stable at over 55 percent, with a total of 1,025 parks of various sizes. The per capita park green space area in urban areas exceeded 14.85 square meters.

The long-term mechanism for soil environmental management of construction land covering both urban and districts established by Guiyang and Gui'an led to a 100 percent safe utilization rate of main construction land.

In 2024, Guiyang and Gui'an boasted 88 green factories, including 41 national-level and 47 provincial-level ones, accounting for 30 percent of the province's total, while the 11 green industrial parks included nine national-level and two provincial-level ones, representing 26.8 percent of the province's total.

Meanwhile, the rate of resource utilization of household waste in Guiyang and Gui'an reached 86.4 percent, the proportion of new and updated new energy and clean energy buses in public transportation reached 100 percent, and the proportion of green travel in the central urban area reached 69 percent.

In terms of green consumption, Guiyang and Gui'an established nine green logistics parks, leading to 13.41 billion yuan ($1.83 billion) in sales of new automobiles, home appliances, and furnishings in the city.
