Guiyang's railway stations reach new high during Spring Festival travel rush

On Feb 3, the three major railway stations in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, collectively served a total of 147,000 passengers, setting a new record for the highest number of passengers in a single day in Guiyang's railway history during the Spring Festival travel rush.

Data shows that on that day, Guiyangbei Railway Station served over 100,000 passengers, Guiyangdong Railway Station served over 19,000 passengers, and Guiyang Railway Station served 28,000 passengers. High-speed rail passengers at Guiyangbei and Guiyangdong accounted for 80.1 percent of all passengers among the three stations.

The number of passengers at the three major stations surged from 45,000 on Chinese New Year's Eve to 73,000 on Jan 29. On Jan 30, there were 91,000 passengers, on Jan 31 there were 104,000, on Feb 1 117,000, and on Feb 2 129,000. The number of passengers at the three major stations is expected to surpass 140,000 on Feb 4.

During the Spring Festival travel rush from Jan 14 to Feb 4, Guiyang's three major train stations served a total of 2.55 million passengers, averaging 116,000 passengers per day. Both the total number of passengers and number of passengers in a single day saw new records for this period.
