Guiyang's tourism soars during Spring Festival holiday

During the Spring Festival holiday from Jan 28 to Feb 4, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, saw a year-on-year increase of 13.85 percent in number of inbound tourists and a 14.66-percent increase in total tourism expenditures, with 10.42-percent year-on-year growth in the number of overnight tourists.

Nanming district was visited around 1.12 million times, generating a total tourism revenue of 1.15 billion yuan ($157.4 million), a year-on-year growth of over 14 percent. The Qingyun Road Pedestrian Street received approximately 870,000 visitors, with sales reaching 21.56 million yuan – a 59.05-percent year-on-year increase.

Yunyan district was visited 1.13 million times, an 11.2-percent year-on-year increase, generating around 1.11 billion yuan in tourism revenue, an 11.3-percent year-on-year increase. A-level tourist attractions in the district were visited a combined 443,913 times, with Qianlingshan Park alone being visited 441,423 times.

Guanshanhu district was visited 492,800 times, a 16.1-percent year-on-year increase. The district's shopping centers attracted 2.13 million visits, a 14.94-percent year-on-year increase, with sales revenue of 203.82 million yuan, a 12.47-percent year-on-year increase.

Xifeng county was visited over 350,500 times, generating more than 203 million yuan in tourism revenue – year-on-year increases of 15.12 percent and 14.88 percent, respectively. The Nanshan Tianmu Hot Spring was visited 16,605 times, with total revenue of 2.86 million yuan – year-on-year increases of 42.79 percent and 74.7 percent, respectively.

Additionally, Gui'an New Area held over 30 folk cultural activities, attracting 146,500 visits, a 19.52-percent year-on-year increase, with tourism revenue reaching 67.27 million yuan, a 26.08-percent year-on-year growth. Wudang district was visited nearly 379,900 times, a 13.78-percent year-on-year increase, and achieved tourism revenue of 186 million yuan, a 19.64-percent year-on-year growth.
