Recently, with the popular movie Ne Zha 2 entering the global box office top 9, the largest IMAX-GT theater in Asia which is located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has topped the national box office rankings.

The theater is equipped with a 32.16-meter-wide and 18.17-meter-high metallic IMAX-specific silver screen featuring a new generation 4K laser projection system, optical engine, and a complete set of IMAX proprietary technologies. It has 714 seats, ensuring that the audience can enjoy a wide viewing angle of over 120 degrees.

The influx of out-of-town movie fans also boosted the surrounding hotels and catering industries. According to the manager of a hotel next to the cinema, the hotel's occupancy rate has increased by over 40 percent on weekdays and is fully booked on weekends. In addition, popular tourist destinations of Guiyang, such as Qingyun Market,  Huaguoyuan area, Qianlingshan Park, and Jiaxiu Tower, have also achieved a small tourism peak after the Chinese New Year holiday.
