The concert started with the "Passacaglia Secret of Wind and Birds" played by contemporary composer Tan Dun, followed by renowned violinist Ning Feng performing the "Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No. 1 in E-flat Major" written by Zhao Jiping. In the second half, the performance of Rimsky-Korsakov's "Scheherazade, Op.35 showcased the Guiyang Symphony Orchestra's understanding and interpretation of western classical works.

The performance was part of the Ljubljana Festival, which began in 1953 and is one of Slovenia's oldest and most influential arts festivals. It is held every summer and attracts renowned artists and groups from around the world. Founded in 2009, the Guiyang Symphony Orchestra was the only Chinese private symphony orchestra invited to participate in the festival. The orchestra's ongoing European tour marks its first appearance in Europe since it was founded 15 years ago. It is also set to perform in Austria, Italy, and other countries.
