Guiyang's GDP sees 5.1% growth in first three quarter

In the first three quarters, Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, achieved a gross domestic product (GDP) of 414.89 billion yuan ($58.3 billion), a year-on-year increase of 5.1 percent at constant prices. By sector, the primary industry's added value was 17.46 billion yuan, up 4.9 percent; the secondary industry's added value was 130.97 billion yuan, up 5.8 percent; and the tertiary industry's added value was 266.45 billion yuan, up 4.7 percent.

The total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery was 27.48 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5 percent. The planting industry grew by 4.7 percent, forestry by 10.7 percent, animal husbandry by 5.1 percent, and fishery by 22.5 percent. Fruits and vegetables in summer and autumn were bountiful, with cucumbers, pumpkins, and fresh corn increasing by 35.8 percent, 31.1 percent, and 18.4 percent, respectively.

The added value of industries above a designated size increased by 10.2 percent year-on-year. Large and medium-sized enterprises grew by 8.1 percent, while small and micro enterprises grew by 18.8 percent. State-controlled enterprises grew by 6.6 percent and the private sector economy grew by 20.7 percent. The three major leading industries developed rapidly, with the added value increasing by 62.9 percent year-on-year. Among them, the new energy battery and materials industry grew by 111.6 percent, the new energy vehicle industry by 28.4 percent, and the electronic information manufacturing industry by 19.5 percent.

The added value of the service industry increased by 4.7 percent year-on-year. The added value of transportation, warehousing, and postal services increased by 7.5 percent, wholesale and retail by 6 percent, and accommodation and catering by 5.4 percent. The total postal business volume in the city increased by 26.8 percent, with express delivery volume increasing by 31.2 percent. From January to August, the total telecommunications business volume increased by 11.1 percent, and the operating income of software and information technology service industries above designated size increased by 13.9 percent.
