On Nov 11, International conference of Mountain Tourism and Outdoor Sports 2025 kicked off in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province in Southwest China. The event brought together over 350 attendees, including representatives from international organizations from 30 countries and regions, government and tourism department officials, representatives from Chinese-based institutions, tourism-related enterprises, mountain tourism destination management organizations, experts, scholars, and media. Their focus was on exploring innovative approaches to the integrated development of "Mountain Tourism +" and sharing new achievements in mountain tourism development.

"Mountains are not only gifts of nature but also carriers of civilization," noted Xu Jing, former regional director for Asia and the Pacific, UNWTO. From the Alps to the Himalayas, the dialogue between humans and mountains has always been filled with a deep respect for nature and the coexistence of civilization.

During the International Mountain Tourism Promotion Conference 2025, representatives from China, Nepal, Russia, and Colombia shared their mountain tourism resources and development insights. Peter Semone, Chair of the Pacific Asia Travel Association, released the report "Growing Guizhou Inbound Tourism - Strategies for key Asia-Pacific Source Markets", offering targeted strategies for Guizhou to grow its international tourism sector.

Since 2015, International Conference of Mountain Tourism and Outdoor Sports has marked a decade of progress. It has not only documented the growth of mountain tourism in Guizhou but also fostered global exchanges of mountain civilizations. Using mountains as a medium and tourism as a bridge, Guizhou is collaborating with the world to create a more dynamic and sustainable new pattern of mountain tourism development.
