The China National Institute of Standardization released its 2025 Annual Report of Cities' Comprehensive Development Index. Guiyang scored 96.39 points, earning the title of most beautiful city and ranking in the top 10 for livability.
By the end of 2024, Guiyang's permanent resident population had increased by 199,600 compared to the previous year, maintaining a growth rate of over 100,000 for four consecutive years. This population growth report provides clear evidence of the city's livable appeal.
Since being designated as a National Garden City in 2008, Guiyang has made landscaping and greening key components of its annual public improvement projects. The green space rate in built-up areas has now reached 40.15 percent, with a greenery coverage rate of 42.07 percent - both indicators exceeding national standards.
