Guizhou students visit Sri Lanka for field studies

A total of 12 students from Guizhou University recently visited various places in Sri Lanka, including the Kandy highland tea plantations, the University of Peradeniya, the University of Colombo, and the National Museum of Sri Lanka, for field studies. They practiced planting tea, engaged in academic discussions, explored the local culture, and friendly sports matches.

At the Kandy highland tea plantations, the students conducted field studies at the Laboratory for Green Tea Pest Control Technology under the Belt and Road Initiative, which showed them how Chinese agricultural technology is benefiting overseas communities. During their exchange at the University of Peradeniya, the students engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as tea green control technology, research methods, and laboratory setup.
At the National Museum, they learned about the history of local agricultural development. Previously in Colombo, the Guizhou students participated in the 6th Green Plant Protection Innovation China-Sri Lanka event. Zheng Yuwen, a student from Guizhou University, said that the trip to Sri Lanka helped her realize just how hardworking and dedicated scientists from around the world are. This passion for research will keep her focused and motivated as she continues working toward her goals.
