The Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ), Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently made the list of "National Intellectual Property Service Cluster Demonstration Areas" – making it the only entity in Guizhou to achieve this recognition.

In recent years, Guiyang HIDZ has advanced intellectual property creation, protection, utilization, management, and services by focusing on key areas such as high-value patent cultivation, intellectual property operations and commercialization, financial support, and rights protection assistance.

By the end of 2025, Guiyang HIDZ had formed a cluster of intellectual property service institutions integrating multiple business areas, including patent agencies and trademark agencies, operations, consulting, legal services, and evaluation. The zone recorded a total of 18,734 patent authorizations, supported by 11 patent agencies and 29 trademark agencies.

In 2025, six enterprises, including CETC Big Data Research Institute Co, Guizhou Aviation Technical Development CO, and Guizhou Zhenhua E-Chem Inc, were successfully designated "National Intellectual Property Demonstration Enterprise Creation Targets", accounting for 33.3 percent of the province's total and 54.5 percent of the city's total. This demonstrates the zone's strong innovation vitality and the effectiveness of its intellectual property initiatives.
