On March 7, the direct flight route from Johor Bahru, Malaysia, to Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was officially launched, further promoting tourism, business, and cultural exchanges between the two regions.

Operated by Firefly Airlines, the flight takes nearly 4.5 hours, saving more than four hours compared to previous connecting routes. The flight operates once a week: during the first half of the year until May 29 and resumes in the second half from Oct 8.

As the third international passenger route between Guiyang and Malaysia, this route is expected to boost the annual number of Malaysian tourists visiting Guizhou by 30 percent.
