Liang Jiachen, the owner of Fudou Coffee from Guiyang, won first place at the 2026 China Barista Championship - East China Division, securing a spot in the China National Finals.
Liang only began preparing for the competition in early March, leaving him with a preparation period of just 15 days. For the first time, he chose to use a non-Geisha coffee bean for the competition - the Peru SL09, which proved to be the right choice.

"I just want to do what I want to do and give it my all," Liang noted that he felt more relaxed than in the past, which may have been another key to his strong performance.
The market for Guiyang coffee has grown rapidly in recent years, with a wave of passionate, skilled, and innovative baristas and coffee shop owners emerging. However, few have extended their reach beyond Guiyang. Liang's championship has demonstrated that through dedication and hard work, one can indeed be recognized on the national stage.
